Yutaka Takenouchi to star in movie "Ano Sora wo Oboeteru (Wenny Has Wings)" to be released in May

Yutaka Takenouchi will star in a new movie, "Ano Sora wo Oboeteru" (Directed by Shin Togashi) along with Miki Mizuno cast as his wife. It has been 6 years since he starred in a movie, "Between Calmness and Passion" (Directed by Isamu Nakae) and he will be playing a father of two.

The movie is based on an American children's novel "Wenny as Wings" written by Janet Lee Carey published in Japan in 2003. The novel portrays family love as the eldest brother continues to write letters to his younger sister.

Yutaka Takenouchi will play a main character as a family man who runs a small photo studio in the suburb. His family consists of a piano teacher wife, a son in 4th grade and a daughter in kindergarten. The story develops as a sudden tragic event hits the happy family.

This is Yutaka Takenouchi's second starring appearance in a movie. He co-stared with Hong Kong actress Kelly Chen in the love story, "Between Calmness and Passion" which grossed 27 million yen. He was selected as Best Actor at the Japanese Academy Award despite being his first appearance in a movie.

Yutaka Takenouchi has been concentrating his work in anticipated TV dramas including, "Rondo" co-starring Choi Ji Woo and "Family" starring Tetsuya Watari.
He also starred in "Yankee Bokou ni Kaeru" (2003) and "Ryuten no Ouhi Saigo no Koutei" (2003).

He has always been fond of movie making and commented, "It has been a while since I was involved in a movie, but I would like to enjoy the movie making atmosphere again."

Shin Togashi also directed "Hoshi ni Negai wo" starring Yuuko Takeuchi in 2003. He commented, "I feel Yutaka Takenouchi fits the character very well as it requires naivety. He is a wonderful individual who has a vision in movie making as a whole, and respects other actors and actresses. I'm very much looking forward to working with him." The movie will start shooting late this month.
